The consumer lending market in Russia: stages of formation, current state and problems of the development

The article describes the stages of consumer lending market development in Russia, performs the analysis of the dynamics of the volume and growth rate of consumer loans, along with the share of retail loans in total loan portfolio of the banking sector. Also gives a description of the current issues of consumer lending, analyses the growth rate of overdue debts of individuals. Performs a comparative analysis of the credit availability for the population in the context of some countries. Contains conclusions about the current situation in the Russian consumer lending sector.
