"Art of еmptiness" in the design of children's illustrated books of China

Traditional Chinese culture is becoming popular and in demand not only in China, but also beyond its borders, which undoubtedly testifies to the actualization of the aesthetic value of China's heritage in the modern world of intercultural communications. The twentieth century is a fundamentally significant hundred-year period of development of the children's illustrated book in China. For many historical reasons, the evolution of children's books has been complex and changeable, with alternating periods of stagnation and progress. Following the general modernization, over the past 10 years, global changes have taken place in the social, scientific and technological sphere, positively influencing the development of children's illustrated books. The aesthetics of Chinese culture, preserved in ancient books, did not lose its significance in the context of the development of modern illustrated children's publications. The art of free space, closely related to the culture and aesthetic concepts of China, is one of the key aspects of modern book design.
