Levels of Ethical Vigilance of a Counseling Psychologist and Their Determination

The article describes the main research findings on ethical vigilance defined as the ability to discern an ethical dilemma in a situation of professional performance. Characteristics of three levels of ethical vigilance, namely, rational-pragmatic, situational-emotional, and personally responsible, is given. Analysis of structural organization of personality characteristics influencing ethical vigilance at each level is presented.
