Russian national type in literature and philosophy

This article is devoted to the problem of determining the national type of the Russian people and the difficulties of understanding the Russian national mentality. The features of the Russian national character are indicated with their further consideration and opposition to the "average" Western person based on the analysis of works of fiction and the works of Russian philosophers. The article compares both positive and negative features of the Russian national type.
