The cultural aspect of the postmodern era

The article is devoted to the postmodernism as a comlex and ambiguously evaluated phenomenon in the cultural history, as one part in a chain of successive civilizations with their religious faith, rationalism and criticism. In comparison with the classical modernity the postmodernism represents a further step towards a resolute rejection of a transcendental understanding of human destiny, devising a strategy of self-affirmation and survival for mankind under the conditions of the new threats of the 21-st century.
