The article discusses the correspondence techniques of I. Grozny and A. Kurbsky. The author poses the problem of the strong suggestive influence of the letters of A. Kurbsky on the recipients, but not on the king. She explains why Andrei Kurbsky failed to convince Ivan the Terrible and force the tsar to “admit his mistakes.” A positive result of this correspondence I. S. Ivanova sees her style and the memories of both arguing about God.
