The article presents data on the study of the semantic space of psychological trauma of young oncological patients with malignant neoplasms of the mammary gland based on the modified method "Semantic differential" by C. Osgood. The results of the study suggest that the main factor in trauma is the individual semantic burden of experiencing the situation of cancer and treatment in the context of a system of significant relationships and social-role functioning. It is shown that patients with a greater number of narcissistic experiences, that is, personally significant relationships in the context of social-role functioning, are more prone to mental trauma in a situation of cancer. It is also shown that patients with fewer emotionally loaded connections in the system of personality relations more successfully cope with the study of psycho-traumatic experience.

Keywords:experience, mental adaptation, semantic differential, breast cancer
