The concept of justice in ancient thought

The article is devoted to an analytical assessment of the concept of justice in the history of ancient philosophical thought. The concept appeared in its original ethical meaning in the era of Homer and runs like a common thread through the history, in various ways philosophically interpretated in antiquity, the Middle Ages and the modern era. On its way through the history it illuminated like a guiding star the road of civilization. Now the concept of justice continues to remain one of the most important orientations of values in the perspective of the future development of mankind.
