The problem of interpretation of the "Victim" mythology in the modern mass culture: a comparative analysis

The authors analyses the discourse of myths "victim" in popular culture, folklore and modern postfolklore. Conducts comparative analysis of European and Russian systems of values that have shaped different approaches to the interpretation of the concept of “victim”, holds the historical and genetic analysis of the value of self-sacrifice in the Russian national culture. Considers the reasons for the ambivalent reflect the concept of "victim" in contemporary popular culture, it analyzes the impact of globalization on national values and priorities earthen cultural traditions. Poses the problem of the interdependence of categories "freedom" and "responsibility" applies to the concept of "self-sacrifice"
