Russian fine arts of the twentieth century

The subject of the study is the fine arts of Russia of the 20th century in the context of the development of the world artistic culture. Also, attention is focused on the circumstances and aspects of the development of Russian painting with its specifics in the early twentieth century. The aim of the work was the need to expand the existing knowledge about the specifics of Russian fine art, designing its view on the painting of artists S.P. Dyagilev, A. Benois, K. Somov, M. Dobuzhinsky, V. Serov, K. Korovin, B. Kustodiev, F. Malyavin, Z. Serebryakova, V. Vasnetsov, I. Bilibin, A. Ostroumova-Lebedeva, I. Grabar, N. Roerich, S. Sudeikin. From the point of view of the theory of art, the author of the article makes a fragmentary emphasis on criticizing the low artistic standards of the outdated peredvizhnic school and propagating artistic individualism, as well as other principles of modernity.
