The article discusses the development and attitude to religion among the enlighteners of Azerbaijan of the XIX century. The applicant analyzes the works of well-known scholars of Azerbaijani philosophical thought — Abbasgulu Aga Bakikhanov and Mirza Fatali Akhundov. The author analyzes the religious works of the enlighteners, reveals the features of religious doctrines of their theological thought on the basis of the work of these authors.
