The formation of the main books of the shafi’i madhhab and the importance of the book of Nuruddin al-Zayadi

The article analyzes the commentary of a famous scientist in the Islamic world of the XVII century. Nuruddin al-Zayadi (died in 1615) to the book of Sheikh ul-Islam of Zakaria al-Ansari “Fath al-Wahab”. This is one of the first comments that were written to the book of Zakaria al-Ansari. Nuruddin al-Zayadi is one of the few scholars whose opinion is significant in the Shafi'i madhhab. He was a student of prominent scholars in the history of Islam: Ibn Hajar al-Khaitami, Shamsuddin and Shihabuddin Ramli and Shihab Umayr al-Bulusi. The book is distinguished by the fact that in each section, the author mentions the most authoritative opinion on the issue that is being addressed, even if this contradicts the opinion of his teachers and the author of the book Fath al-Wahab.
