the article substantiates the problem of conceptual definition of self-realization in the history of psychology and philosophy. Studying the research of the process of self-realization, by scientists of different cultures and worldviews, determined the need to formulate and solve the following tasks: highlight the main approaches defining self-realization; to reveal trends in the concepts of definitions and research by scientists of personality self-realization, to analyze the common and different meanings in the definitions of self-realization, on the basis of the material studied, to create a generalizing conceptual-theoretical definition of personality self-realization.
