Styles of behavior in conflict and their relationship with personal characteristics of teachers

The article presents the results of studying the relationship of personal characteristics and behavioral styles in conflict between teachers of schools and kindergartens. The object of the research is the styles of behavior in conflict, character accentuations, value orientations, motives of professional activity and authoritarianism of the individual. The subject of the study is the relationship of behavioral styles in conflict with the personal characteristics of teachers. The study involved 87 teachers from schools and kindergartens. For data collection were used: Method of evaluation type of behavior in a conflict situation K. Thomas, Methods of studying personality accentuations by K. Leonhard, Values questionnaire S. Schwartz, the Modified questionnaire “Motivational profile” W. Richie and P. Martin, the Method of the study of authoritarianism T. Adorno. According to the results of the study, a fairly high degree of similarity of styles of behavior in conflict was found in both school teachers and kindergarten teachers. Avoidance and adaptation are among the priorities for their use in conflict. The analysis of relationships allowed us to describe the psychological types of teachers who prefer different styles of behavior in conflict.
