The dichotomy of the Russian mentality

The aim of the study is to show one of the many markers that characterize Russian culture, and which is one of the many characteristics of the Russian mentality, that is, a dichotomy. To reveal how the dichotomy of Russian culture affects the history of the Russian superethnos, and how it manifests itself. The novelty of the research is that the history of culture is considered in an interdisciplinary field, including through the reflection of Russian philosophers and historians. As a result, it is shown that the pendulum-like historical development of the Russian area is indirectly connected with one of the many markers of Russian culture – dichotomy.
