The aim of the work was to study the individual psychological characteristics of a person prone to criminal behavior, and the selection of psycho-diagnostic methods that are valid for their study. The study was based on the assumption that in personal terms, criminal behavior is caused by moral, intellectual and emotional-volitional decline in personality. In turn, to study them, it is necessary to combine tests developed in line with the objective, subjective and projective psycho-diagnostic approach. According to the results of the study, it was concluded that persons prone to criminal behavior are characterized by the following individual psychological characteristics: negative attitude to moral norms of behavior, low level of legal awareness; reducing the level of analytical and synthetic activity and the ability to generalize; emotional instability, increased aggressiveness and conflict, reduced behavioral control. In turn, psycho-diagnostic methods used in the course of the study can be recommended for their study.
