The musical tradition of the Syrian Orthodox Church has repeatedly attracted the attention of art critics and cultural experts. The origin of the Syrian Orthodox church music culture can be traced back to the dawn of Christianity. The results of this study will allow us to point out the reasons due to which the Syrian church music has unique features, making it a special phenomenon in the musical culture of the Orthodox world. These factors are considered in the article as an attempt to supplement and expand the already existing body of knowledge about the musical tradition of the Syrian Orthodox Church and its influence on contemporary Syrian music.
