In Russian ethical thought primary attention was paid to the practical aspect of the idea of traditionality, ways of its implementing. The works of thinkers of Medieval Russia expressed a call for active concern for the welfare of another person (Vladimir Monomakh), active philanthropy, which was considered as the basis of piety («The Word about ordeals»). The issues of the essence of human value (Joseph Volotsky), the greatness of the mind (Daniel Zatochnik), the perfection of the spirit (Nil Sorsky) were also covered. Dialogic ethics of M. Bakhtin, considering the sphere of intercultural interaction, offers a new understanding of the space of practical implementation of the principle of focusing on active care for the well-being of a person.
