Does it make sense to defend universal moral values?

The study is devoted to the problem of upholding moral values (resistance to wrong), more precisely, the factors that determine the possibility of its successful solution. Since without understanding the nature of values (meanings), the ways of their embodiment in historical, social, cultural reality, the biosphere, it is impossible to defend universal values; the problem under consideration is of vital, practical importance for a person and his happiness; there is a need to raise the question of the consequences of an axiological and moral choice, to defend a choice that allows to create communities, culture, civilization, to be human, – the subject of research is the logical, psychological and empirical properties of values that can claim the status of "universal"; individual opportunities that open up in case of conscious acceptance of the mentioned values, finding the corresponding meanings in human existence. It is argued that state-building, historical progress and economic development, as well as other creativity, are impossible without a sustained adherence to fundamental, universal values, among which the principles of morality occupy a worthy place. Principles, meanings, goals that don’t have the properties of self-applicability, realizability in the community, the ability, if embodied, to improve the position of the individual and society, to ensure the preservation and the widest possible distribution of the good, cannot become an imperative of creative action, and in case of attempts to implement, they are doomed to degradation of projects based on them. Everything that’s an object of pride, the basis of prosperity and the guarantee of the future success of men is, in fact, the achievements of good people who defend universal moral values.
