Post-traumatic stress in children undergoing medical treatment and parent’s impression of its severity in children

The study of features of post-traumatic stress manifestation is an important component in understanding the expression of experiences in children. Consideration of specificity of interaction of parents with children in this way, can allow to understand, how much relatives are aware of the situations causing strong experiences in their children, and how these experiences are manifested. The research revealed that on average, parents of children undergoing medical treatment underestimate the degree of intensity of post-traumatic stress in their children. Also, in 80% of cases, parents did not know about all the traumatic situations experienced by their children.
