The article examines the actual aspects of the formation of a sense of national dignity through the prism of key cultural factors influencing a person's personality. The role of culture as the main factor in the formation of national dignity throughout the history of the Russian state and society is emphasized. The specificity of the historical development of Russia determines the typified features of human thinking that form the foundation of national identity. The conclusion is made about the importance of the basic institutions of socialization of the individual as tools for the formation of a sense of national dignity.
