The article considers the main directions of research in the peace psychology. The peace psychology is a rather young direction of science that studies the psychological mechanisms of direct and structural violence, explores the effectiveness of various methods for its prevention, peacemaking and the formation of a culture of peace. The article describes the peace psychology as an academic discipline that uses a systematic approach to the study of the problems of violence and peace, taking into account the geographical, historical and cultural context of research.
