Modern reality is the era of digitalization or digitalization (from the English. Digits - numbers), in which information technologies occupy the main place. The Internet in the era of digitalization is becoming an integral part of people's lives. The article reveals the essence of blogging, this new social phenomenon that is gaining strength and scale, highlights and analyzes the functions of blogging, focuses on those features of blogging that make it more and more popular and large-scale. The novelty of the work is highlighting the functions of blogging, revealing the logic of the origin and dynamics of the development of blogging, as a complex process of transformation of the modern globalizing world.
