The problem of the search for truth continues to be relevant for each of the sciences, individuals and within the framework of philosophy. The ambiguity of the concept of truth and the variety of approaches make it necessary to study the problem of truth in philosophy, both in its historical and ontological aspects. The article discusses the main approaches to the essence of truth and the problems arising in its comprehension. An attempt is made to show that the most significant are the recognition of not only the objective, but also the subjective nature of truth in philosophy. Special importance is attached to existential truth, which most shows the immanence of truth, the complexity in its transmission and personal character.
