Essential understanding of value in sociophilosophical discourse

Skopa V. A.  (Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Altai State Pedagogical University (Barnaul))

The article examines the essential concept of value in the socio-philosophical discourse. The value structure of the personality is dynamic, but at the same time it has sufficient stability. Despite the key role of values in human life, to date, science has not formed a unified understanding of the nature of values. In general terms, value is understood as the human, social and cultural significance of certain phenomena of reality. Values are included in the category of "social representations" and are the basis of the objective order of social life of a particular society. The subject of a system of specific values can be a social community. In the axiological tradition, there are two approaches to the problem of values: naturalistic and anti-naturalistic. Of particular interest is the socio-philosophical interpretation of the supra-individual nature of values. They, acting as certain target markers, determine the upper limit in the level of the philosophical and social aspirations of the individual.

Keywords:value, social philosophy, individualism, social consciousness, ontology of value.
