Martynova Nadezhda Dmitrievna  (Kazan Federal University)

humanity began to understand sex as an integral part of life and a teleonomic principle since ancient times, from the time when a person began to comprehend certain phenomena and the phenomena surrounding him. Philosophy followed. The philosophy of sex has implicitly existed since ancient times. The idea of sex, love always arose when a conversation began about the meaning of life, about human nature, death and immortality. It should be noted that the philosophy of sex of a particular historical period is, to a certain extent, the philosophy of culture. It should be noted that in modern works on the sexuality or eroticism of the ancient Greeks and Romans, the main interest of scientists focuses on homosexuality, which occupies an important role in ancient culture. But at the same time, they forget that besides this, heterosexuality also existed. Given the designated scientific gap and methodological inconsistency, within the framework of a scientific article, the basic attitudes in the philosophy of Ancient Greece on the topic of sex and sexuality are identified and explored. Repetitive chains of associations found in the works of Xenophon, Plato and Aristotle are highlighted.

Keywords:sex, sexuality, aphrodisia, M. Foucault, slavery, mind, baseness, animal, need, Antiquity, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle.
