Dynamism of the subject in the conceptual views of Locke: historical and philosophical analysis

Skopa V. A.  (Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Altai State Pedagogical University (Barnaul))

The article deals with Locke's conceptual ideas concerning the dynamism of the subject. From the point of view of the usual theory of knowledge, the concept of "power" in the philosophical concept of Locke is a figurative expression that appeared by chance, which in essence does not reflect any serious content. For Locke, the question of the sources of ideas was fundamentally important, which, in his opinion, there were two: the object of sensation is one source of ideas, the activity of our mind is their other source. The philosopher, proceeding even from the kinetic worldview, deduces the necessity of the activity of the subject, at the same time affirming and developing the Aristotelian approach to the activity of the form. Making human activity the object of cognition, Locke gives a justification from the standpoint of dynamism. Reflecting on his own activity, he argues that it is also based on the concept of "power".

Keywords:history of philosophy, Locke, Western philosophy, dynamism, activity of the subject.
