Quaternary logic as the logic of "belief" for strong AI

Safronov Alexey Vladimirovich  (Candidate of Technical Sciences, Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov)

The article considers a family of logical systems in which the law of double negation does not apply, but the law of n-dimensional negation does, depending on the n-dimensionality of logic. This approach allows us to describe three- and more-dimensional logics in a new way, and give an interpretation of “uncertainty” in these systems. In particular, it is shown that from this point of view, only logics that are multiples of two are complete: binary, quaternary, octal, etc., since the addition of each new dimension in logic doubles its “n-ness”. Tables are given for the main logical operations of the logic of conviction as an extension of classical logic. It is shown that such logic operates in a two-dimensional logical space and is more flexible and intuitive, and theoretically can be used for strong artificial intelligence systems.

Keywords:law of double negation, quaternary logic, logic of conviction, uncertainty, strong artificial intelligence.
