The role of psychological rehabilitation in patients suffering a new coronavirus infection

The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has become one of the most severe pandemics in human history. High affinity for lung tissue contributes to the development of severe respiratory syndrome, which caused death in most cases. The severe clinical course of the disease, social isolation, and disappointing prognosis of medical specialists contributed to the aggravation of mental disorders in patients who underwent COVID-19. The most frequent manifestations include: the appearance of anxiety, sleep disturbance, the development of anxiety-depressive and post-traumatic disorders, which has a direct impact on the rate of recovery and the quality of life of patients. The inclusion of psychological correction in the general complex of rehabilitation measures is important in terms of correcting mental disorders and monitoring patients at all stages of its management.
