The article defines the initial ideas on the basis of which it is planned to investigate the features of the relationship of personality traits, basic beliefs with ways to overcome negative situations and the attitude to psychological assistance among law students. The assumption is made that the determination of the psychological profile of students of legal orientation who apply or do not apply for professional psychological help will allow to determine the main directions of work of universities in the field of providing psychological services.
