GENDER IDENTITY IN EARLY AND LATE ADOLESCENCE

The problem of gender representations of a person about himself today attracts more and more attention of psychology. The relevance of this kind of research at the present stage of society's development is due to a number of problems: the rejection of traditional ideas and the uncertainty of reference stereotypes of masculinity and femininity; a decrease in the effectiveness of the young generation performing social, social, family and parental roles and functions; the aggravation of problems of marriage, divorce, loneliness; a drop in the birth rate, an increase in the number of abortions and children born out of wedlock; the growing number of such special psychological experiences of the individual as role conflict, the problem of dual identity, the crisis of masculinity, the fear of losing femininity, the crisis of failed masculinity, etc. This, in turn, actualizes and defines the problem of theoretical understanding of the dynamics of the relationship between gender identity and existentials of being from early adolescence to late.
