The article examines the issue of the influence of individual (age-sex) and personal factors on the tendency to manipulative behavior among young people. The results of an empirical study of 169 young people aged 17 to 35 years are presented. The researchers were used psycho diagnostic techniques: the Bant Scale (a technique for diagnosing the manipulative attitude of the individual) and the Machiavellianism Scale, MACH-IV. A statistically significant relationship between certain age periods and the level of manipulative behavior was revealed. The relationship between the level of manipulativeness and gender was not found. No relationship was found between Machiavellianism (a personal prerequisite for manipulativeness) and the direction of education (technical and humanitarian). The results obtained make it possible to predict an increase in manipulative behavior among young people aged 25 to 30 years, regardless of gender.
Keywords:psychological manipulation, manipulative behavior, prerequisites of manipulativeness, age, gender, orientation of education, youth
