MAN'S DESIRE FOR IMMORTALITY IN THE CONTEXT OF CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT

Despite the fact that at all times the topic of immortality has not lost its relevance, as a scientific problem, the immortality of the individual began to be considered not so long ago. This article clearly shows how the attitude of people to the issue of life after death has changed in the paradigm of the cultural and historical development of society. In the course of the study, several main types of immortality were identified, a detailed description of each of them is presented in this paper. The author of the article carried out a comparative analysis of the works of scientists, culture and religion on issues related to the theme of human immortality. Thus, the study is interdisciplinary in nature and includes the following areas of science: philosophy, religious studies, history, cultural studies, and psychology. The article presents the main views of the brightest representatives of one or another of these areas. The concept of immortality in the modern world has received a significant update with the advent of its new form, which some scientists are striving to bring to life. It's about digital immortality. The article reveals the main aspects of this type of immortality, considers the positive and negative aspects of the implementation of such a large-scale and significant idea in life.
