DEVELOPMENT OF IDEAS ABOUT PERSONAL WELL-BEING: FROM ANCIENT TIMES TO MODERN APPROACHES

This article examines the evolution of ideas about personal well-being. The author points out that the concept of well-being is always closely related to many external factors. In this regard, the study of aspects of the development of the idea of psychology and sociology in this area is relevant, since the above-mentioned conditions surrounding a person undergo constant transformations. The purpose of the article is to identify the basic ideas about personal well-being in the works of researchers of various periods, to identify the main scientific trends and determine their practical application at the present stage. Objectives: study of relevant literary sources; identifying the importance of the environment as a determining factor in the development of ideas about the well-being of an individual; determining the place and role of the entire accumulated body of scientific knowledge about the well-being of the individual at the present stage. The novelty of the study lies in the complexity of the analysis, tracing the evolution of ideas of psychological thought about the well-being of the individual. As a result of the analysis of sources on the research problem, it is revealed that the concept of “personal well-being” largely depends on external socio-economic and political conditions and finds its further development in the modern dynamically changing world.
