TRADITIONAL GAMING CULTURE IN THE ALTAI SOCIETY AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XXI CENTURY

The article deals with the traditions of the gaming culture of the Altaians. Actually, the Altai games can be divided into three large blocks: intellectual-logical, sports-competitive and ritual-ritual games. The first group of games includes such games as Altai checkers / chess, riddles, cards. The second group is Altai wrestling, horse racing, archery, weight lifting, various types of running. The third group is the ritual games of the wedding cycle and calendar rituals. Many traditional Altai games continue to exist at the beginning of the 21st century.
