Vorozheikin Sergey Andreevich  (Adjunct, Saratov Military Order of Zhukov Red Banner Institute of the Na-tional Guard of the Russian Federation)

The article is devoted to the study of the correlation of ideas about military service with the level of subjective well-being of cadets. The study of this problem will sig-nificantly expand the picture of the phenomenon of subjective well-being, its predic-tion and factors that have a significant impact on its formation. The purpose of this study is to study the correlation of cadets' ideas about military service with their level of subjective well-being. New data on the connections of various types of representa-tions with subjective well-being will help in the development of programs for socio-psychological support of military personnel for their successful implementation in the military-professional sphere. Methodology. The study involved 200 1st-5th year ca-dets aged M=20.4 years SD=1.55 males. To study the picture of cadets' ideas about military service, a questionnaire developed by the author was used to study various types of cadets' ideas about military service, clarified at the stage of the pilot study. To study the level of subjective well-being, the method "Scale of subjective well-being" by authors R.M. Shamionov and T.V. Beskova was used. The theoretical con-clusions are accompanied by the data of the author's psychological research based on the results of other empirical studies. The results obtained demonstrate that 84% of the total variance in the subjec-tive well-being of cadets can be explained by 11 ideas about military service. It is es-tablished that the most significant for the subjective well-being of cadets are such ideas as: understanding the direction of development of the VNG of the Russian Fed-eration, a view of military service as a source of satisfaction from their activities, an opinion about cadets as more purposeful and disciplined people, unlike their civilian peers, the idea of himself primarily as a military man, awareness of his inner capabili-ties and potential, determination to continue military service after graduation from the military institute, significance for personal comfort, well-being of colleagues, ac-ceptance of values existing in military service. A negative connection with subjective well-being is the cadets' ideas about the feeling of joy from performing official duties, satisfaction from the state of affairs in the service, studies, presentable appearance as mandatory attribute of the image of a serviceman.
