THE PHILOSOPHY OF STOICISM AND GESTALT THERAPY

This article presents the results of comparing the philosophy of stoicism and gestalt therapy. The question of the relevance and popularity of Stoic philosophy in our time is considered in detail; which of the Stoic philosophy can enrich the practice of a psychologist and a Gestalt therapist in particular. There is also an analysis of what the strengths of stoicism and its limitations are (dead-end development); which contradicts the existential foundations of humanistic psychotherapy and, possibly, leads to neurotic conclusions, hinders human development.
