THE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF MENTAL STABILITY OF ATHLETES

The article raises the problem of mental stability of an athlete. The mental stability of an athlete is one of the key aspects of his success in sports activities. The concept of "mental stability" of Russian and foreign scientific researchers is analyzed. It was revealed that mental stability is the ability of an athlete to effectively manage his emotions, be in a state of concentration and make the right decisions in stressful and extreme situations. The rationale for the development of a training program for the development of mental stability of an athlete is presented. The program includes three blocks. Block 1. Mastering the skills of self-regulation of mental states. Block 2. Formation of self-organization skills. Block 3. Development of volitional qualities and cognitive processes. Each block contains examples of exercises.
