Fetisova Evgeniya   (Ph.D., Associate Professor, Pacific State University, Khabarovsk )

Annotation. The article analyzes existential motives in the music of the Soviet period of Russian culture. The emphasis is placed on the fact that existentialism initially powerfully declared itself in the works of Russian thinkers of the Silver Age, including the brilliant composers of pre-revolutionary Russia. The music of the Russian diaspora of the first wave is analyzed, which preserved the national musical trends laid down by Rachmaninov and Scriabin. The features of Russian music are considered within the framework of socialist realism.
