In this article, the author considers the problem of solidarity from the position of social philosophy and philosophical teachings. The author defines the functions of solidarity in modern realities, in the era of instability and degradation of society.
The article also considers the historical prerequisites for understanding the category "solidarity" and its meaning. The idea of solidarity is described by the author from the standpoint of different studies and scientific approaches, and is also presented from the standpoint of the influence of this phenomenon on the development of Russian society.
The author points out that solidarity consolidates society, in the process of solidarity actions, the conflicting interests of different members of society are coordinated, groups are united to achieve common goals. At the same time, it is noted that solidarity and the struggle for existence operate in parallel in society. In external actions, the element of struggle dominates, and in internal actions - solidarity. The external struggle of a particular social entity is strengthened by solidarity regarding the definition of the role of the State in the creation of a solidarity society, it can be concluded that public harmony is ensured by reasonable regulation of legal relations between individual individuals.
