In this article, the concept of assertiveness is considered as a skill of self-confidence. Within the framework of assertive behavior, personal strength is manifested not in domination or suppression of the enemy, but in soft influence. A person who is confident in his abilities is usually based on an assessment of opportunities, the situation and a forecast of a possible result. This quality has the appearance of external calm; it is easier for such a person to communicate with other people without feeling the need to suppress their will. Assertiveness involves self-control, which can also be called a sign or even a skill of self-confidence. A trait is a characteristic, and a skill is a dynamic phenomenon that can be formed and developed. Assertiveness, that is, the ability to defend one’s boundaries, one’s own opinion and give an adequate assessment of what is happening, can simultaneously be called both a sign and a skill of self-confidence.
