The article examines the subjects of the Celestial Empire in Confucianism according to the interpretation of the Soviet and Russian sinologist A. E. Lukyanov. Emphasis in the article is placed on the analysis of the figure of the noble man and his role in the family, society, and government. After this, the role of the first ancestors and first rulers of the Celestial Empire in the Confucian coordinate system, the attitude of Confucius to his best student Yang Hui and the place of souls and spirits in Confucianism are considered.
