THE INFLUENCE OF SCHOOLAST AESTHETICS ON THE POLYPHONIC SCHOOL “NOTRE DAME”

The article is devoted to the philosophical and aesthetic analysis of medieval musical polyphony on the example of classical samples of representatives of the Notre Dame school. The article highlights the influence of scholastic aesthetics, in particular, the aesthetic ideas of Thomas Aquinas, as well as the changing cultural context of the era on musical composition and the perception of musical art in general.
