SYSTEMATIC DESENSITIZATION AS A BEHAVIORAL METHOD IN WORKING WITH CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

The article considers approaches to psychological intervention of preschool and primary school age children with developmental disabilities. Such methods as children's art therapy, rational-emotive therapy, psychoregulatory training, game psychocorrection and behavioral methods are analyzed. The advantages of behavioral methods have been clarified. The empirical study revealed affective characteristics of respondents with mild mental retardation and delayed mental development of psychogenic and somatogenic genesis, which made it possible to adapt the behavioral method of systemic desensitization taking into account the characteristics of children and implement a program of psychological intervention. The dynamics of the indicators under the influence of the psychological program is noted and the main dynamic changes in the structure of the respondents' psyche are analyzed.
