the paper reviews how new technologies affect the experimental staging development on the one hand and the ballet art traditions conservation on the other. The Russian choreographic school and classical ballet traditions are highly valued and appreciated all over the world. Also, with disbalance between their artistic and technical components, multimedia effects shift the audience’s attention from spiritual and ethic value to the wow-effects and limit the viewers’ own perception of choreographic performance integrity. Employing technologies in ballet theatricals may cause controversial considerations about their influence on the artistic processes but they do favour the staging practice advancement, educational and cultural projects realization, the audience enlargement, and the Russian classical dance heritage exploration.
Keywords:ballet art, choreography, computer and multimedia technologies, modern theatre.
