ELEMENTS OF THE METHODOLOGY OF OBSERVATION IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES

The article discusses the application of the observation method in social research. The focus of attention is on the methodological features of the method, revealed by different authors who consider the method from different points of view. Methodological analogies are made with the use of the method in natural science research. The article summarizes some methodological approaches and draws attention to the need to develop a unified observation methodology that does not depend on a specific field of application.
