THE INFLUENCE OF CHINESE CULTURE AND SOCIAL TRADITIONS ON RUSSIAN SCIENTIFIC THINKING IN THE 19TH - EARLY 20TH CENTURIES

This article provides an analysis of the influence of Chinese culture and social traditions on Russian scientific thinking from the 19th to the early 20th century. The work traces the evolution of the perception of Chinese civilization in Russian science and its reflection in various fields of knowledge. Key aspects of Chinese culture that influenced Russian scientific thought are considered: philosophy, literature and art. The ways of penetration of Chinese ideas into the Russian intellectual space, their transformation and adaptation in the context of the domestic scientific tradition are studied. The works of leading Russian sinologists and orientalists, their role in the formation of scientific ideas about China are analyzed. The importance of cultural exchange and diplomatic missions in the development of Russian-Chinese scientific ties is highlighted.
