CHANGE OF CULTURES: FROM V.Y. BRUSOV TO J.N. HARARI

The article analyzes the problem of culture change at the present stage of society development. The unfinished work by V.Y. Brusov "Culture Change" is reviewed and the theses of the Israeli historian and futurologist Y.N. Harari concerning the problem of humanity and civilization development are contrasted. The main trends in the development of modern and future civilization in the context of global changes in the cultural and information field are highlighted. The idea that the development of modern technologies may result in the oppression of human intellectual function is put forward. Introduction of digitalization, aggressive competition between manufacturers of gadgets and content affects the quality of information consumed. Transformation of culture, history, and ideology is observed. The authors conclude that individual national culture is being replaced by a global digital culture, in which individual features of different national cultures will be blurred.
