The article is devoted to the topic of deconstruction of the sacred text in the treatises of the philosopher Mohammed Arkoun. The French-Algerian thinker M. Arkoun, following the traditions of structuralism and deconstructivism, and introducing a distinction between oral codified Revelation, suggests the possibility of deconstructing the sacred text with further secularization of the prophetic message, believing that Islam was inspired by the concept of the inseparability of the spiritual and the secular. The biography of the figure is considered, as well as the interpretation of his works and his contribution to the development of philosophical views. It is noted that, according to the philosopher, Muslim thought was squeezed into the framework of logocentrism, falling under the influence of theologians and those in power, who monopolized religious discourse, including methods of interpreting the Koran. Arkoun offers a pluralistic approach to the Quranic text, turning to the old traditions of hermeneutics and the methods of modern social and humanitarian sciences. It is concluded that in the Western tradition Islam is often understood as a religion with the inseparability of the spiritual and the secular, which, according to Arkoun, is imposed. Steps are taken to free ourselves from such misconceptions through the secularization of the prophetic message, theology, proving that secularism is an integral part of early Islam of the Medinan period.
