OPERA BY JIN XIANG AS AN EXAMPLE OF A NEW UNDERSTANDING OF THE OPERA GENRE IN CHINA

In the 20th century, Chinese opera underwent significant changes, reflecting the social, cultural and political transformations taking place in the country. This work examines the contribution of the composer Jin Xiang to the development of this genre, its innovative approaches and artistic characteristics, which have become significant for the era. Jin Xiang, as one of the prominent representatives of modern Chinese musical art, used traditional elements of opera, combining them with new musical forms and styles. His works are distinguished by deep emotionality, expressiveness of melodies and original arrangements, which made it possible to attract the attention of a wide audience and update the repertoire of Chinese opera. The work analyzes key aspects of Jin Xiang's work, including its influence on the development of the musical language, the use of folk melodies and the integration of Western musical elements. Changes in the subject matter and content of opera works are also considered, reflecting changes in the public consciousness and cultural identity of China in the twentieth century.
